For those of you who've been to my house lately, with or without kids, you probably remember seeing a huge "digging hole" that the kids love to play in. The hole started out little and was nice because the soil was rather sandy and sort of natural for digging. Gradually over time it became this...
My nephew Noah loved that it was okay to dig. If you look closely you can see that the sides have rather sharp concrete edges sticking out. They just sort of showed up the deeper the hole got. Not really safe. This hole has been a battle for a while, Jared has been meaning to fill it. I decided to help since he's working out of town during the week. It took about 12 bucket loads (you can see the bucket in the picture below), at a little more than half full, and some sweat but we finally got her filled!
The kids helped me dig dirt from the garden and drag the bucket across the yard each time, I sure put them to work. The reward: a swimming party with the girls! I was watching my nieces Suzanna, Renee and Rachel that day, and they were good helpers too.
Ahhhh, it was worth the sore muscles to see the hole go. :)

These Frostad girls sure aren't afraid of work--especially when it's a project we want done. Good work Miss, that hole will be missed by all the little boys in the family, but alas, it had to go. ;)
The swimming party looks fun, and the boys look cute with their shaved little heads.
