Christmas 2008

Waking up to presents!

The boys were so excited to see the presents and the stockings full. They dug right into their juice boxes. Tanner actually woke up first and instead of crashing through and exploring under the tree, he calmly brought us the plate that once held Santa's cookies. He had to show us that Santa had eaten them, and that the milk was all gone. I was excited he noticed, there were also some chocolates on the plate that I personally had made sure Santa ate. :)

Breakfast first...

Without meaning to we have had breadfast first for the past few years. I guess its good to make sure we're all happily fed for the big day. Its the one day of the year that the boys get sugar cereal, but there's always the orange in the stocking they have to eat too. My parents and Jared's always did this, ya just need the Vitamin C to combat the incoming sugar. We love the small cereal boxes too!

Family Picture before the mess begins...

I'll always have stockings for Jared and I too, cause I'll always be a kid.

The boys loved their remote control cars!
Owen was asking Santa for this for at least a month before Christmas! He had seen the ginormous remote control car at Costco, it was bigger than Grant. We told him Santa would probably bring something a little smaller if he was good. Jared was sad that he didn't get one too.
We got fun gifts too!

Jared's siblings do have a rotating list each year, and his older sister Mary and her husband Marty got us these sweet gifts! Its the Disc Golf game and a book on folding paper airplanes. Both will get a lot of future use. I can't wait to try out the Disc golf game when the weather turns warm again!! It was a really fun filled Christmas. We were very blessed this year!
We finished off our Christmas celebration by having dinner that night at the Osborn's house. The house was very full, the food great and we really enjoyed their company. The kids go crazy getting to play with all of their cousins. It gets a little crazy too. But it was worth it.
We spent a lot of time before Christmas with my family and had a dinner the Sunday before at my house. It turned out nice and wasn't too bad for space. I hope to get the chance to spend more time with my family next year. It was nice to see everyone.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too! And stay safe with all of the snow we've been having!

What restraint to make the kids and YOU wait to open presents after breakfast. We fast until all the presents have been opened and played with somewhat. My family does the orange thing in the stocking too. Travis and I do stockings for each other too. I'm mean SANTA!!!

Great pictures, I love how excited Owen looks in the first one. What cute boys. We always do breakfast first too, but hey, at least we don't make the kids give Dad a backrub first too, I know a family who does that. :)
